Jacksonville Beach Lagoon-Front Water Management Project

This Jacksonville Beach home needed more than a basic gutter replacement. Water was pooling near the structure, the existing gutters were holding water, and downspouts were draining behind a newer bulkhead — creating risk for foundation damage, erosion, and hydrostatic pressure behind the wall.

Gutter Pro designed and installed a complete custom water management system to move rainwater safely away from the home and help protect the foundation, bulkhead, and surrounding property.

For this project, we installed new 6" seamless aluminum gutters, properly sized downspouts, a 5" NDS channel drain, a 12" catch basin with sump, underground HDPE drainage pipe, a heavy-duty FDM pop-up emitter, and 4" Schedule 40 PVC drainage through the bulkhead to relieve water pressure.

This project is a strong example of how properly designed gutters and underground drainage work together to prevent costly water damage in coastal Northeast Florida homes.

Gutter Pro serves Jacksonville Beach, Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, St. Augustine, Nocatee, St. Johns, and surrounding Northeast Florida areas.

Seamless Gutters & Drainage in Jacksonville Beach, FL

Jacksonville Beach is at meaningful flood risk — climate modeling shows risk of 4-foot-plus flooding by 2050 under reasonable sea-level scenarios. Properties outside designated floodplains can flood too. For homeowners, the practical takeaway is that water management matters more here than in inland Jacksonville — gutters, downspout routing, and underground drainage need to be designed for repeated heavy events, not just specced as a builder afterthought.

Beach exposure plus heavy rain plus tight lots

Jacksonville Beach gutter systems face three pressures at once:

  • Atlantic salt air corroding cheap materials
  • Heavy seasonal rain events overwhelming undersized gutters
  • Tight urban lots with nowhere obvious for discharged water to go

The result on builder-grade or older gutter systems is overflow against siding and foundation, damaged fascia, and water working into crawl spaces or ground-floor footprints. The fix is designed: heavier-gauge seamless, hidden hangers, Schedule 40 PVC underground routing, and French drains where the lot needs them.

What we install in Jacksonville Beach

  • Seamless aluminum or copper gutters — heavier gauge for coastal exposure
  • 6-inch profiles as the default; 7-inch for larger roofs
  • Hidden hangers with corrosion-rated fasteners
  • Schedule 40 PVC underground extensions — corrugated pipe fails in coastal sand
  • French drains for surface water on tight lots
  • Pop-up emitters at property lines where routing requires it
  • Soffit and fascia repair as part of scope when needed
  • Color matching to coastal architecture

Why Schedule 40 PVC matters more at the beach

We use Schedule 40 PVC for underground downspout extensions everywhere — but it matters most in coastal soil conditions. Corrugated pipe crushes under foot traffic, root pressure, and shifting sandy soil. It also clogs because debris hangs up in the corrugations. Schedule 40 PVC stays round, stays clear, and stays functional for decades. It's a material decision most gutter companies skip because PVC costs more — we don't.

One contractor, gutters and drainage

Most gutter companies install aluminum and stop there. We're NDS-certified for drainage and design gutters and underground routing as one engineered system. Owner Albert handles design walks, quotes one number, and stands behind the work with a lifetime warranty on labor and materials.

I'm in a flood zone — does my gutter and drainage work matter?

Yes. Flood-zone designation is about overall risk, but every individual property's water management affects its outcome. Properly sized gutters and designed underground routing keep your roof runoff from adding to ground-level water during heavy events.

How long do seamless gutters last at the beach?

Heavier-gauge seamless aluminum installed properly lasts decades. Copper lasts longer. The variables that shorten gutter life at the beach are thin material, corroded fasteners, and clogged systems holding moisture against the house — all of which we design around.

Why not corrugated drainage pipe?

It crushes and clogs in coastal soil. Schedule 40 PVC stays round and stays clear. Costs more. Worth it.
