Seamless Gutters & Drainage
in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Ponte Vedra Beach homes are not average homes. Larger roofs, steeper pitches, expensive landscaping, custom fascia and soffit detail — and brutal coastal weather. Salt air, hurricane-grade rain, and mature oak canopy all conspire against the cheap 5-inch gutters most builders install. Gutter Pro replaces undersized systems with 6-inch and 7-inch seamless aluminum, designed for Ponte Vedra’s roofs and built to last on the coast. NDS Certified Drainage Contractor.
Why Ponte Vedra Homes Demand Better Gutters
Ponte Vedra is a different gutter market than the rest of Northeast Florida. Homes here are larger, more architectural, and most sit under heavy live oak canopy that drops debris year-round. Add salt air, A1A wind exposure, and the kind of rainfall that turns into 6-inch downpours during summer storms — and the bare-minimum gutter systems most builders specced 10–20 years ago aren’t doing the job anymore.
Three reasons Ponte Vedra gutters fail before their time:
Salt air corrosion. Aluminum holds up well, but cheap hangers, screws, and end caps don’t. We use stainless and corrosion-rated fasteners on every Ponte Vedra install — no exceptions.
Oversized roof footprints. Custom homes in Sawgrass Players Club, Marsh Landing, The Plantation, and Old Ponte Vedra often need 7-inch oversized gutters to handle peak rainfall. A 5-inch run on a steep, large roof overflows in any real storm.
Drainage, not just gutters. Ponte Vedra’s high water table and irrigation-heavy landscaping mean water sitting near foundations is a real problem. We design complete water-management systems — French drains, catch basins, underground downspout extensions — not just gutters bolted to fascia.
We don’t install 5-inch gutters in Ponte Vedra. Period. We are a premium installer for premium homes — Sawgrass Players Club, Marsh Landing, Old Ponte Vedra, The Plantation, Ponte Vedra Beach proper, Palm Valley, and across PVB.
Ponte Vedra estates sit on some of the most challenging ground in St. Johns County. Wide footprints, complex rooflines, and lots that hold afternoon storm runoff between closely sited homes mean a stock gutter package rarely keeps up. Add the Atlantic salt load drifting in from A1A and the constant tension between irrigation, septic fields, and stormwater, and the margin for sloppy work disappears. Gutter Pro designs gutter and drainage as one engineered system for these properties — not two separate trucks pulling up on different days. Owner Albert walks every Ponte Vedra property before we cut a single piece of aluminum.
Estate Roof Loads and the Salt-Air Problem
Large Ponte Vedra homes shed enormous volumes of water in a Florida downpour, and the prevailing east wind drives salt deep into any unprotected fastener. Standard 5-inch gutters and spike-and-ferrule hangers are not specified for this scale or this climate. We design around it.
- 6-inch seamless aluminum runs sized to roof area, not the builder default
- Hidden hangers screwed into rafter tails — no nails backing out after a year
- Oversized 3x4 downspouts instead of cosmetic 2x3
- Stainless or coated fasteners specified for coastal salt exposure
- Color-matched aluminum to match Old Ponte Vedra and Sawgrass palettes
What We Install on Ponte Vedra Homes
- Seamless aluminum or copper gutters formed on site
- Hidden hangers spaced for high roof loads
- Schedule 40 PVC underground drainage — never corrugated
- French drains for low spots between estate homes
- LeafBlaster Pro gutter guards for oak and pine cover
- Soffit and fascia repair where prior installs caused rot
- Custom color match to existing trim
- Pop-up emitters at daylighted yard exits
Drainage Between Houses — Where Most Estates Fail
Many Ponte Vedra lots place homes 15 to 25 feet apart with both roofs pitched into the side yard. Water funnels down a narrow corridor, soaks the foundation footings, and wrecks landscaping. We have engineered Schedule 40 PVC drainage systems through these corridors before — designed to capture downspout discharge from both homes and carry it to a daylight or pop-up emitter at the property edge. Corrugated black pipe collapses, silts up, and roots through within a few seasons. Schedule 40 stays open.
One Contractor for the Whole Water System

Will copper gutters hold up to Ponte Vedra salt air?
Yes — copper handles coastal exposure better than painted aluminum and develops a patina over time. We install copper on a number of Old Ponte Vedra and oceanfront homes. The trade-off is cost and the need for compatible fasteners and hangers, which we spec to avoid galvanic corrosion against the copper.
Can you tie new drainage into my existing yard drain system?
Usually, yes. We assess the existing drain depth, slope, and condition before we cut anything in. If the prior install used corrugated pipe — common on builder-spec Ponte Vedra homes — we recommend replacing rather than splicing, because the weak link will keep failing.
How long does an estate-scale install take?
A typical large Ponte Vedra home with full gutters and a Schedule 40 PVC drainage design takes two to four working days. Albert is on site for the design walk and for any decision points during install. We do not subcontract.
Do you work in gated communities like Sawgrass and the Plantation?
Yes. We are fully insured and provide certificates of insurance to community offices on request. We coordinate gate access, work hours, and dumpster placement with property management before the first day on site.
